The Yoga Bolster, an accessory to help with postures
The bolster is a yoga prop used as an aid during postures such as Virāsana , Supta Virāsana or Savāsana . It can be round or rectangular and is usually 1 m long and 23 cm in diameter.
What is the yoga bolster used for?
Often used in gentle or regenerating yoga such as Iyengar , this yoga accessory will help you to relax your back, rest your legs and also support the body to promote openings (heart, thorax, hips, etc.).
For example, a yoga bolster placed under your knees or under your back will help you hold the posture longer, because you will be more comfortable. Your body will no longer suffer from the floor being too hard.
Its cotton cover, filled with kapok or spelt husks , will provide you with great comfort when performing your asanas.
The density of this yoga object varies depending on your weight. If you are light, opt for a softer bolster. Note: the yoga bolster will soften with use.

How to take care of your yoga bolster?
Often supplied with a zipper, the cover of the yoga bolster is easy to remove and replace. All you need to do is remove the fabric and put it in the washing machine at 30°C.
However, this can vary between brands, so it's important to carefully check the label of your yoga accessory before doing anything.
