Our commitment alongside the Tchendukua association
You probably know yoga? It is a body-mind practice, which with the help of postures, relaxes or even strengthens muscles, depending on the type of asanas performed. But, it does not stop at simple sessions.
Yoga is a true philosophy of life whose values are respect for nature and others. It is in this context that we have decided to support the Tchendukua association which works to safeguard the environment, but above all to ensure that a people survive in Colombia. Each purchase made on the Tayronalife site contributes to lending a hand to the planet and also to a tribe.
The Tchendukua association at the service of the environment of men and the planet
The humanitarian NGO " Tchendukua - Here and Elsewhere " was created in 1997 in France, thanks to Eric Julien. He wanted to help the Kogis people, descendants of the Tayrona Indians, living in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (Colombia). They are one of the largest pre-Columbian tribes in South America. The key words of this people are respect for the planet, people and animals. They proudly uphold values such as solidarity, listening, harmony, responsibility and balance. Foundations in line with yoga.
Modern society dictates living conditions to the last indigenous peoples that lead to a loss of ancestral knowledge. Thus, the Tchendukua association supports the descendants of the Tayrona through various actions. Land has been successively returned by the organization to allow them to live and preserve their values based on the law of life. As for the biodiversity of tropical areas, it is reconstituted through various approaches, in particular by planting trees, aimed at repairing sites degraded by agriculture.
Tchendukua – Here and Elsewhere was not chosen at random
It is because we wanted to give back to nature what it offers most precious that we decided to support an organization. The Tchendukua association aiming to help the descendants of the Tayrona and our online yoga store called Tayronalife the choice of the NGO was obvious. In addition, Tayrona is a protected region and located in the area where the Kogis Indians live.
Balance is the basis of yoga and the posture that best reflects this is the tree pose. One of the actions carried out by the South American humanitarian association is to replant trees on the depleted areas of the Kogis lands. This is very much in line with the Tayronalife website selling yoga equipment .
How is the support provided by the humanitarian NGO Tchendukua?
The South American Humanitarian Association is working to plant trees called Guaimaro, Mayan Nuts in English. These produce about 180 kg of nuts per year each. They contain a lot of iron, zinc, calcium, proteins, vitamins A, B, C and E, potassium, fiber and folic acid. Thus, they allow the Kogis to eat properly. In addition, their roots fix carbon, which is good for the environment.
With every order placed on our online yoga store , a tree is planted on the ground of the Sierra Nevada to help the Indian people. Since 2014, 3632 trees have been returned thanks to your purchases.
In order to support the Kogis people and perpetuate their magnificent culture and philosophy, the tayronalife.com store offers a wide choice of eco-responsible yoga equipment to give meaning to your practice.
