We put out a call to wellness professionals to introduce you to them and help them in these complicated times. Today, we introduce you to Alexandra, a yoga teacher specializing in prenatal yoga.

Alexandra discovered yoga more than 15 years ago. After training as a teacher in 2013, she specialized in prenatal yoga a few years later. The well-being that this practice brought her was a real trigger, and she now aims to bring this to pregnant women through her website, www.yogaprenatal.net .

HOW DID YOU LEARN TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?

With my first child, I quickly realized how easy it was to not take care of yourself, to forget, to not have time. And I also quickly understood how important it is to do it, even more so in these times when we are overworked, when we don't have time to take care of ourselves.

You have to look after yourself first in order to look after others. And by that I don't just mean doing yoga or taking a bath alone, I'm talking about taking time to do what makes us vibrate, what recharges us (music, swimming, etc.)

WHAT PRACTICE FOR YOUR WELL-BEING?

Obviously yoga, often short sessions at home, but also walks in the forest. I am lucky to live surrounded by forests and mountains. These moments in nature, becoming aware of each moment, of what surrounds me, of my breathing, is my most vital practice.

WHAT IS THE RITUAL OF YOUR PRACTICE?

Gratitude. It’s probably the only ritual I really stick to, every day. When I wake up, and when I go to bed, I connect to this feeling of deep gratitude for the beings around me, for the life I’m lucky enough to live. I’m convinced of the power of this feeling.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM IT?

A feeling of serenity because everything else seems insignificant compared to the magic that surrounds me.

WHAT DO YOU CARRY IN YOUR YOGA BAG?

Something to have music on. Not everyone enjoys having music on during a yoga session, personally it helps me to refocus.

WHAT IS YOUR FETISH OBJECT/ACCESSORY?

I don't have any... I try not to get attached to things, and I'm often quite minimalist, at least I try to be!

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE FOR TAYRONA YOGINIS?

Not to try to fit into the idea that one can have of yoga. Not to wear leggings, a bad or buying a juicer just because it's what you see on social media. None of that matters. You are unique and so should your choices. Find your voice, because that's all that matters.

WHERE / HOW DO YOU PRACTICE?

Changing countries very often, with a fairly rhythmic life, I practice most of the time at home. For convenience, but I love the atmosphere of the studios and the energy of group practices.

WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA/FAVORITE PHRASE?

Watch your thoughts; they create your reality. ANYTHING is possible.
