The Heart Chakra or Anahata: Fourth of the seven chakras
The Heart Chakra or Anahata: Fourth of the seven chakras
Everyone has chakras, seven in total, invisible, but very present in the fleshly envelope. It is thanks to them that the harmony of body and mind operates, allowing daily well-being. The 4th energy center is called the heart chakra located on the sternum at the level of the heart muscle. It alone hides many secrets to discover or rediscover.
Meaning of Heart Chakra
The heart chakra is an energy center located at the level of the sternum at the front and between the two shoulder blades at the back. In Sanskrit, it is called Anahata and is represented by a green lotus with 12 petals. This is the origin of love allowing joy to be manifested. Thus, this chakra has a pink color radiation from the moment when the love circulating there is unconditional, because the feeling experienced is not the same as that experienced at the level of the sacred chakra, more passionate and carnal.
In Kundalini Yoga, the heart chakra is the center of energies and the gateway to the soul, serving as a bridge between the first three energy centers (physical plane) and the last three (spiritual plane). It generates only positive and does not emit negative.
The heart chakra allows acceptance and love of oneself and others, peace, compassion and forgiveness. Its primary function is union through love, starting with loving oneself.

What are the manifestations of a balanced heart chakra ?
A harmonized heart chakra allows you to experience unconditional love capable of compassion, empathy, open-mindedness, contentment, acceptance of yourself and others, but also helpfulness. You have a strong desire to care for others. The joy of living is your natural state while allowing your emotions to express themselves.
What are the signs of an imbalanced heart chakra ?
Heart Chakra Too Open
An overly open heart chakra can lead to two opposing behaviors: either devoting oneself to others while forgetting oneself with the goal of receiving love and recognition, or being self-centered and narcissistic and not interested in others. Therefore, when this energy center is overactive, the only love expressed is conditional. You can be critical, jealous, possessive and demanding. Feelings of being misunderstood and exploited can manifest. The ailments likely to appear are blood circulation or cardiac disorders. However, the attitude of an overactive heart chakra is there to fill a deep wound.
Blocked Heart Chakra
A blocked heart chakra shows that the heart is closed to others, manifesting anger, depression, selfishness, indifference, hatred, possessiveness, jealousy, intolerance, loneliness and lack of self-love. You have difficulty loving, forgiving and making decisions. You have a great fear of rejection which is the origin of your need for constant reassurance. Without even realizing it, you cling to others and to material goods, becoming dependent on the love of others.
Your underactive heart chakra also expresses itself in your daily life. In love, you are easily disappointed. Romantic or friendly failures are frequent and you flee from reality in your many intellectual or physical activities, while convincing yourself that you do not need love so as not to suffer.
How to open the heart chakra with kundalini yoga exercises ?
When the heart chakra is unbalanced, it is necessary to harmonize it in order to keep the balance of body and mind. This can be done through kundalini yoga exercises that you can practice daily on your ecological mat representing the 7 chakras.
