Aurélie Brac is a yoga teacher, sports enthusiast and mother of 3 children. Her life is orchestrated around the 8 limbs of Patanjali yoga.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today .

A few words about Aurélie, prenatal yoga teacher

Mother of three children, I worked for 15 years in marketing & communication within multinational companies. The arrival of my third child marked the end of my corporate career and offered me the transition to the hectic life of an entrepreneurial mother!

HOW DID YOU LEARN TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?

After the arrival of my second daughter, I took up a new professional activity in full swing with two young children. Needless to say, my weeks were slightly busy and the stress level high…

After testing relaxation and sophrology, I happened to end up in a yoga class… and it was a revelation! Being sporty by nature, I like physical challenges and yoga brought me this search for intensity while also bringing me the relaxation that I have not found in any other activity.

WHAT PRACTICE FOR YOUR WELL-BEING?

This is a complex question… for my well-being, I need to let go.

For this, I need yoga, meditation, a balanced diet, walks in nature but also to see friends, laugh and enjoy life! I am not a purist yogi, I need a balance of Yoga-nature-social relations to be happy.

I specialize in yoga around motherhood and family. I like to help women live their motherhood and their role as a mother well through bodily well-being.

WHAT IS THE RITUAL OF YOUR PRACTICE?

I wanted to say that I don't have a ritual but in fact I do. For my yoga practice, I always unroll my mat in the same way, facing the sun and I generally start my session with a time of observation standing in samasthiti or in child's pose depending on the time and my state.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM IT?

A connection to myself, an exploration of what is happening inside. My personal practice is very internalizing. My life is so outward-looking that I need to find myself when I sit on my mat.

WHAT DO YOU CARRY IN YOUR YOGA BAG?

My carpet, a brick & a bottle.

WHAT IS YOUR FETISH OBJECT/ACCESSORY?

The brick: I love sitting on my brick, feeling the contact of my sit bones on the block and with my back straight.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE FOR TAYRONA YOGINIS?

Dare to meet yourself with love and kindness.

Yoga is not just about asana, posture. Bring yoga into your life by bringing awareness into your relationships, into your daily activities, into your cooking. Every individual is different; yoga offers us to follow this unique path that is ours.

WHERE / HOW DO YOU PRACTICE?

I practice at home, in my living room or in my bedroom. For a few years now, I have gradually felt that my body practice is becoming gentler. Maybe it's because I'm getting older or because everything is going too fast today, so I need to compensate by slowing down the pace. Currently, I love practicing Yin Yoga. I feel that this practice regenerates me.

WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA?

Gayatri Mantra. So beautiful…
