Caroline Sutter is a yoga teacher, artist, poet, astrologer, and art enthusiast. So many words to define her.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today .

Portrait of Caroline, yoga teacher and creator of Body & Soul Flow Yoga

I am Caroline Sutter, a yoga teacher. In 2015 I created Body & Soul Flow™ Yoga, a holistic practice (which takes into account the person in their entirety), in order to be and act in full awareness and thus support each person on a daily basis. Which gave birth to BLOOM Practice Yoga Studio & Wisdom School (opened in September in Annecy), a place of transmission and sharing dedicated to self-knowledge and fulfillment. Different practices of mindfulness and the art of living are highlighted in this resolutely contemporary, urban yoga school, anchored in different paths of ancient wisdom.

For 5 years, in addition to group and private classes, I have been offering times of deepening and introspection around the wisdom of the sacred feminine and the magic of the stars with Moon Circles every new moon and full moon. Outside the walls, there are yoga/wellness retreats. For the event part, I work in partnership with the Trésoms hotel and the Annecy Castle Museum, for the Yog'Art sessions - a cultural mediation that is particularly close to my heart because this project was born from my passion for art and yoga.

My teaching is both traditional and mystical, which allows you to find your joyful identity and your inner resources in order to create the most beautiful version of yourself - the one your soul wants you to be. Having practiced yoga for 15 years, for me, each moment on the mat is above all an encounter with the Self, (and not a performance, because yoga is not just about postures) it is an art, the scientific art of remembering our true nature.

Connecting with people is my great passion and seeing them smile after practice is my true joy. This is why opening the BLOOM Practice school is an achievement for me because it allows me, beyond my teaching, to create a place conducive to rejuvenation, where we also have the pleasure of sharing, exchanging, discovering the true yoga lifestyle in an authentic shala.

What practice for your well-being?

At home, I like to create an atmosphere before unrolling my professional Manduka yoga mat. I practice near my altar where I find my statues brought back from my travels (notably Ganesha), my stones and my essential oils with which I like to compose because they contribute to harmonizing my whole being. In terms of my outfit, I often wear Yuj leggings because I find them very comfortable and a small top from the Yoga searcher brand.

What is the ritual of your practice?

I always connect my practice with the astral energies of the moment or the season we are in, because what happens outside (or above us) impacts us on many levels. And before starting I set my intention ( Sankalpa in Sanskrit) which allows me to recreate the link with the Universe. And I like to move with a nice playlist to let myself be carried and guided by my intuition, every day the practice is different. If I don't have time to make movements I draw an oracle card to welcome guidance for my day.

What is your favorite object/accessory?

My mala that I bought in Bali when I was doing my first training. It symbolizes this turning point in my life and helps me connect with my intentions.

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

As I tell my students, yoga is above all about feeling, not performance. The image conveyed by social networks is far removed from what yoga is, which is above all an art of living, where of course we work the physical body - and not only - but we do not seek to be contortionists. This is why I always suggest trying things out to find the right style and teacher.

Yoga is a journey towards oneself, we understand it as we practice. In a lifetime we will do thousands of downward dogs, but they will all be different, because we are never the same (physically and mentally), from one day to the next, and even in one day. So, it is important to connect to the present moment, to the feeling and the rest will follow.

In this period full of uncertainty it is more important than ever to take care of yourself, work on your physical health (immune system in particular) and mental health (relieve stress and anxiety), so group and private lessons continue online via zoom, to share an enriching, nourishing and joyful practice!

If this resonates with you, you can join the BLOOM Practice tribe anytime online or in person. And for the holidays, consider giving your loved ones a “feel good” gift.
