Applications to download

Here is my selection:

1. 5 minutes of yoga.

  2. Simple and effective postures for a daily 5-minute workout

Negative point:

  1. Only 2 free programs

2. Gotta Joga

Gotta Joga is also an app to download, if you want to get into yoga. This app has also developed a website that offers many programs whether it is for outdoor yoga, for meditation or for strengthening your muscles.

Positive points:

  1. This allows you to practice 35 sessions of different durations depending on your needs.
  2. Good explanations of the postures linked to the health application on your iPhone.
  3. The Yoga tree, the more you practice, the more your tree will grow.
  4. The blog that gives you information about yoga.

Yogom is an application that allows you to improve your skills with 77 different asanas that are explained with illustrations.

Positive points:

  1. Multiple programs available, perfect for beginners.
  2. Positions well explained with photos that allow you to reproduce them easily on your own.

Negative point:

  1. Only two short five-minute programs are available for free.

YouTube videos to watch

There is also another possibility to train yourself using YouTube videos which are free.

Know that in this discipline, the choice of teacher is of primary importance, because it is he who will make you advance and progress in your yoga practice.

That's why I recommend you try several. I recommend choosing the one that inspires you, whose voice, energy and teaching you like.

Indeed, yoga is not just asanas, it is also knowing how to breathe well and above all awakening your mind.

On YouTube, there are really a lot of yoga videos in both English and French. There is something for everyone. Here is the selection that I offer you for having tried them during confinement.

First, I advise you to go see the ELLE YouTube channel, because if you are a beginner like me and you want to get started with yoga, there are many explanatory videos made by Hélène Duval, the creator of Yuj which are easy to access.

While doing some research, I also discovered an American YouTuber Yoga with Adriene . On this channel, you can find yoga sessions to learn how to meditate, to lose weight, etc. It's pretty great and above all very inspiring. The only downside of this channel is that the explanations of the videos are in English. It is sometimes complicated to follow.

I also discovered the YUJ YouTube channel (still by Hélène Duval) which is well structured and complete and helped me a lot in my yoga beginnings. They also do classes on zoom

Taken over by Tigre Yoga, this site also offers videos and online courses. They will allow you to release your emotional tensions, find a good night's sleep, and boost your energy. This is the invitation of the first online yoga platform with audio, traditional and internalized. yoga-en-ligne.com specializes in hatha yoga and offers classes in which each posture is coupled with breathing and specific mudras and bandhas. This particularity allows to develop the nervous influx, to act on the physical, energetic and psychic at the same time and gives the classes a great effectiveness.

On this site, you have access to more than 300 sessions, on different themes (back pain, stress, thinking less, sleeping better, etc.) and you can select the level and duration of your course. 8. Yoga Mountains

And finally, the latest addition. A platform that presents online courses in the beautiful Alps region with its energetic teacher Estelle Peretto. The courses are given outdoors with a splendid view of the mountains. These are also real-time courses between Arêches-Beaufort and Annecy. You will find videos of different durations, pranayama courses, meditation.

Try it if you want a breath of fresh air.
