Portrait of a creative Parisian Amazon: Leda Maçoro
Designer and Yoga Teacher at the same time, Leda Maçoro combines her two passions in her life: art and well-being.
She publishes her works on the account “Essencia_design” on Instagram and she is soon launching her limited edition collection of T-shirts illustrated with magnificent Yoginis. Also, as part of the collective Les AMAZONES PARISIENNES , she manages the artistic direction of all graphic media.
In Yoga for 4 years, specialized in Vinyasa Flow, she invites her students to enjoy the present moment, to explore and savor life. Through her creative and fun classes, Leda wishes to spread the divine light present in each of us. Her relaxed and revitalizing practice allows, by stretching, laughing and disconnecting from everyday life, to better combine body and mind. Her classes are an invitation to travel in full consciousness.
On the one hand, she draws inspiration from Hebrew mysticism for the classes of her association UJYOGA, on the other hand she has her yogis immerse themselves in the artists' palettes in her YOG'ART classes at the KINOR GALLERY.
For an hour, you forget the hustle and bustle of the city and share a moment of gentleness and lightness at a pace that is adapted to each individual. The exercises are in harmony with breathing, which brings all the vital energy we all need!
It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.
How did you get into taking care of yourself?
This may seem a bit cliché. The thirty-something executive who is retraining... I had a very busy life on the one hand at work, with a position of high responsibility, on the other hand with a life of 'creation' with a schedule of inspiring activities such as cinema, dance, exhibitions and also drawing. I started Yoga 4 years ago when I understood that an anti-stress break was necessary. With Yoga I discovered a new way of standing, breathing, eating and even my relationship with the present changed. My relationships improved and my mind began to strengthen itself to transform my outlook and thereby change my life.
What practice for your well-being?
A vitality smoothie when I wake up after my morning practice, made with rice milk, banana, spirulina, dates and almond powder. It's a real delight!
What is the ritual of your practice?
I first connect to nature, that is to say when I wake up I look at the sky, I observe the sun, the clouds, the shades of colors around, I take my head out, I breathe the air and I fill myself with oxygen. Then I unroll my mat, I do my practice which I always end with a relaxation session where I escape into a dream world. I transform myself into a star, a cloud, a sun (everything is possible! ...) and I travel in time and space. This part frees the resources of my unconscious and new ideas emerge.
What do you get out of it?
I feel soothed, free, invigorated and with a powerful creative force. It is often after these sessions that I create the best!
What do you carry in your yoga bag?
I take my Yoga bag “Louise” bought at Naoussa collection, an amber room fragrance or a Palo Santo to burn because I love to smell an inspiring scent during relaxation. Of course my favorite Yoga outfit from Ana Heart; and without forgetting a bottle of water.
What is your favorite object/accessory?
I have several ethnic jewels on me, they are my lucky charms, I keep them with me at all times even during yoga classes!
What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?
To take care of them, to take the time to pamper ourselves because we all need to put ourselves at the top of our priority list. Our body is our temple.
Do at least one activity a day that makes them feel good to feel the joy of living!
Open your eyes and see miracles around you, because there are plenty of them, you just have to look carefully!
Where/how do you practice?
I practice at home, on my terrace or in a park if the weather permits! I always put on some relaxing music, I diffuse a perfume (essential oil) to awaken my senses and I face a landscape that inspires me.
And I also love going to the classes that we organize with “Les Amazones Parisiennes” which take place in exceptional lofts or in very beautiful spas in Paris.
What is your mantra/favourite phrase?
“What we think we become, what we feel we attract and what we imagine we create.”
