We are delighted to introduce Sarah MacDonnell, Creative Director of Yoga brand: M.Life London who is joining our site.

We asked her for some tips on their yoga practices which I'm sharing with you today.

Who is behind this English brand of designer and eco-responsible yoga clothing and accessories?

M.Life was founded 10 years ago by Leonie Ellyatt, passionate about creating lifestyles, quality clothing and accessories to help yogis in their practices.

Together with Sarah MacDonnell, they strive to design and create innovative products to meet customer needs.

How did you get into taking care of yourself?

I try to do everything in moderation but without being too strict with myself so that I can always have a little fun.

What practice for your well-being?

I practice Vinyasa yoga 4 times a week and am taking a yoga teacher training course for a better understanding of my practice at Yoga London.

What is the ritual of your practice?

I try to take care of myself every day. From an Ayuredic tongue scraper to saying something nice or starting or ending my day with a class.

What do you get out of it?

My regular yoga practice helps me get rid of any negative energy that remains stuck in my body and mind.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

A yoga strap, ginger biscuits, rose water spray, ginger kombucha for after sessions.

What is your favorite object/accessory?

My M Life brick and strap. I like having the ability to modify poses. We are all different and props help you develop while supporting you and helping you stay injury free.

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

Rediscover your breathing in your yoga class, breathing is the key. It is not the realization of a position but finding calm and comfort in the poses. Breathing will help you find depth in your postures and unblock buried emotions that need to come out.

Observe yourself, don't judge yourself.

Where/how do you practice?

I practice at Yoga Edge to run my class and at Yoga London for my yoga teacher training.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ
"Yoga is the inhibition (nirodhah) of the modifications (vrtti) of the mind (citta)."
I always do tree pose when I feel my mind is overloaded. It helps me control the changes. It's pretty magical.
