The Manduka clothing collection, "Manduka Clothing"
The Manduka Story
Manduka is first and foremost a story of yoga mats . It was in 1997 that Peter Sterios, a yogi, came across a simple, yet chic black mat. Its grip transformed his practice and he decided to share this with yoga teachers. The name Manduka is a tribute to his yoga teacher who is also his mentor: Shandor Remete.
Since the beginning of the "Black Mat" carpet, Manduka has been inspired and driven by the responsibility to reduce global consumption by making better products that last longer.
The Quality of Manduka Yoga Clothing
Manduka yoga clothing is eco-friendly, meaning it is made with natural materials and, where possible, with raw fibres. Manduka favours recycled materials (recycled plastic bottles) which are transformed into recycled polyester which makes the clothing soft and strong, such as leggings and bras. All recycled polyester (rPET) is GRS certified and each product contains more than 65% recycled polyester.
Manduka products are designed to last. The choice of fabrics is based on materials that are respectful of the planet, soft on the skin and designed for performance. Eco-responsible yoga clothes designed by and for yoga teachers, but for all other yogis too.
Manduka yoga textiles carry the Bluesign® label to minimise our environmental impact and contribute to the move towards a sustainable textile industry.
