The practice of qi gong for the circulation of energies
The practice of qigong to harmonize the flow of Qi energy in the body.
''Qi'' meaning ''energy'' and ''gong'' designating ''work''. Qi gong, also called chi gong, is a real energetic work through your body in order to promote the flow of Qi energy (Chi in Chinese). Based on traditional Chinese medicine, qi gong exercises are presented in the form of a slow and gentle gym through the sequence of movements, visualizations and control of breathing. A technique aimed at physical, mental and spiritual balance. This discipline is very similar to Tai-Chi-Chuan, but does not have the same origin.
The Taoist origin of qigong practice
The first exercises aimed at improving health were introduced before the 1st century BC. However, it is the text Yang Sheng Lu , by Xi Kang (poet and musician of the 3rd century) which is at the origin of modern Qi Gong . Later, between the 7th and 10th centuries, it is with Taoism that physical activity becomes a means of circulating the breath and that the word Qi Gong appeared.
Much later, in the 20th century, the technique of qigong arrived in China, in the medical centers of traditional Chinese medicine. In 1955, the Chinese Ministry of Health admitted the therapeutic application of Qigong, which was then taught in schools. In 1957, Liu Guizhen designated this practice as a discipline of the body, mind and breath in his work Qigong Liafo Shixian . Since then, there have been several styles of qigong , including:
- The flight of Liang Shifeng's crane,
- Ma Litang's 5 Animals Game,
- The Qigong of wisdom.
The principle of qi gong to circulate vital energy Qi
The technique of qigong is based on traditional Chinese medicine. Qi is the vital energy circulating in your body, through channels called meridians. When the flow of Qi runs through your body in a harmonious way, it would promote the prevention and healing of certain physical and mental ailments.
A regular gi gong session leads to the mastery of this vital energy, but also allows you to activate the self-healing of your body through physical exercises. It is indeed a real gymnastics combining a series of slow or still qi gong movements and stretching with breathing and visualization. It is an art accessible to all. In addition, you do not need any equipment, except a cushion or a yoga mat for more comfort.
There are various forms of gi gong , each with their own virtues: some strengthen the body while others relieve conditions originating from an imbalance in energy circulation.
What are the benefits of qigong?
The practice of qigong helps to circulate the energy called Qi and therefore to stimulate the functioning of your organs, but also to unify the body and mind. The virtues of qigong are multiple:
- Increase your vitality and enable good health (including lowering blood pressure or cholesterol),
