Portrait of a yogini blogger: Pauline
Pauline is 30 years old and has lived in Toulon for about ten years. She created L'Ananas Blonde in January 2016 to share her search for a healthier life and well-being through food, sport, more natural tips for beauty and home, but also her good addresses in the region and her passion for travel (especially backpacking).
It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.
How did you get into taking care of yourself?
Since I was very young, I always took care of myself outside. When I was little, I was flirtatious. I preferred skirts to pants and liked to put little jewelry or barrettes in my hair. I started to like makeup and nail polish towards the end of middle school and then shopping in high school.
I really started taking care of my body about 5 years ago. After years of dieting, weight gain, smoking and so on… I decided to eat differently and get more serious about sports.
But taking care of "me" came later. I think I had a turning point when I was approaching 30. I realized that taking care of my body and my health was not enough. I also had to focus on my well-being.
What practice for your well-being?
The question comes at the right time because I was going to follow up on this. I started yoga (hatha and ashtanga) as well as meditation.
What is the ritual of your practice?
I go to Yoga once a week and I practice meditation very regularly in the morning on an empty stomach.
What do you get out of it?
A lot of well-being and serenity. I also learn to know myself better and understand my emotions and the different messages that my body can send me.
What do you carry in your yoga bag?
I arrive already dressed (leggings, comfortable bra and tank top or t-shirt). In my bag there is just my mat, a bottle of water and something to tie my hair.
What is your favorite object/accessory?
My mala necklace brought back from my trip to India last winter.
What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?
I'm a newbie too so I don't really have any advice to give other than to be patient and kind to yourself.
Where/how do you practice?
At home, outside, in a room… the advantage of yoga is that you can do it anywhere!
What is your mantra/favourite phrase?
Nothing ever happens by chance.
