Portrait of Renata Zaczek Indacochea, yoga teacher
My name is Renata Zaczek Indacochea , I live in Saint Louis, Alsace, I am the owner of the distance learning site yogaclass.online . Teacher of Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, certified Yoga Alliance, Aquarius Age Kundalini Yoga teacher trained in nutrition, beauty treatments, Tibetan bowls, certified facilitator in Laughter Yoga, Shakti Yoga Dance... In short, I'm always training!
Former corporate executive in Paris and globetrotter, I was touched by the grace of Yoga a few years ago. I wish to share my wonder for the power of the yogic lifestyle and philosophy .
My motto: Yoga can benefit everyone: I teach in retirement homes, daycare centers, companies... My youngest students are 18 months old... the oldest: 98, but most are women like me, 40 years old and over, looking for balance.
How did you get into taking care of yourself?
I have I started to get interested in the Bhakti Yoga aspect at the age of 17 when I bought my first Bhagavad Gita and an asana manual... Then life went on.... I finished my studies brilliantly, developed a great career... A few years ago the call came again. I developed gestational diabetes which remained after the birth of my second son. I decided to take care of myself differently than with pills and injections . Yoga came back: diligent practices 3 times a day, nutrition studies, alternative care... Yoga gave me the will to heal. It's done.... Now I share with wonder all that Yoga has brought me... Healing, well-being, happiness...
What practice for your well-being?
I am a bit of a black sheep of all the “schools”: I simply follow my menstrual cycle and the cycle of the moon to know what I need: one day it will be Yin, another Ashtanga Vinyasa , another traditional Hatha like Sivananda or a beautiful Kundalini Yoga Kriya... But I practice every day ... And meditation is always present in my life...
What is the ritual of your practice?
Since discovering the sacred feminine, I have been listening to myself. The ritual is therefore evolving. However, my daily practice is done in the morning before the children wake up. A cold shower, dry brushing and almond oil massage wake me up. I go down to my sacred space located in my converted basement, I light my candle, I meditate... then I let the practice come.
In the spring I will add some cleaning practices : cleaning the nasal passages before the breathing practice for example.
What do you get out of it?
L ife is a constant change. To remain serene and welcome all the lessons it has in store for us, discipline through regular practice is essential. Meditation cleanses negativity and mental clutter, asanas cleanse the body, activate the glands and give us a healthy body. Vegetarian diet makes digestion light and more energy. Yoga takes place on the mat and beyond, it is an art of living serenely and healthily.
What do you carry in your yoga bag?
My rock crystal that protects me, my protective bracelet, my mala , a good inspiring book… Then of course the “must have”: good yoga mat, 2 bricks, a zafu , a strap, a cleaning spray with essential oils…
What is your favorite object/accessory?
My rock crystal pendant : I charge it at the full moon and it accompanies me, but without any attachment beyond limits: if I happen to forget it, it's not the end of the world because it's just an object ...
What would be your advice for Yoginis? Tayrona ?
Practice without excuses and the miracle will happen, sooner or later but surely.
Where/how do you practice?
In the morning before sunrise all alone , with my students all day long and my great Indian teacher via Zoom
