Portrait of Sara Chioccioli, Ashtanga yoga practitioner
My name is Sara, I am 24 years old. I started yoga 3 years ago now, a bit by chance at a complicated time in my life. I found in this practice a form of well-being and fullness that still accompanies me today. I share my experience with you.
How did you get into taking care of yourself?
I have always loved taking time for myself. I need to give myself a few minutes a day to take care of my well-being, which allows me to empty my mind and get rid of the stress of the day. This could be a walk in nature, reading a book, an hour of yoga, cooking a small dish or simply a beauty mask.
What yoga practice for your well-being?
Ashtanga, for some time now. It is a dynamic yoga. The practice that brings me the most benefits on a daily basis.
What is the ritual of your yoga practice?
An Om, a few sun salutations A and B, here we go... I'm starting my series
What do you get out of it?
Happiness above all but also challenge, I like to be able to surpass myself and advance in my daily practice. Ashtanga is always the same positions that follow one another and we see our progress very quickly.
What do you carry in your yoga bag?
My water bottle, my Manduka Prolite mat and my positive energy.
What is your favorite object/accessory?
My Manduka Prolite mat which was developed by yoga teachers and is ideal for my Ashtanga practice. It is my "soul mat".
What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?
A daily practice, even a short one, of 5 to 15 minutes and the desire to surpass yourself.
Where and how do you practice?
During the lockdown, in my living room otherwise at the Yoga Room studio in Brussels
What is your mantra/favourite phrase?
"Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo"
I welcome the cosmic energy and the path to the Light
