Julie, a yoga teacher, who refocuses during confinement
We have launched a call to wellness professionals to introduce you to them and help them in these complicated times. Today, we are talking about Julie, a yoga teacher who is thirsty for knowledge and practice.
It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today .
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA
Portrait of Julie, a yoga teacher who practices during confinement
My name is Julie, I am 38 years old, and I am a Yoga teacher. I was made redundant on the eve of the covid crisis, destitute, I refocus myself thanks to my daily practice during confinement, every day in addition to this, I accompany myself with spiritual readings, I have a thirst for learning.
When the lockdown ended, I visited friends, so I practiced every morning in their garden, and Cyann, a young teenager full of energy, joined me, we shared together. Then she continued our practice after I left. The transmission was born with my desire to live my passion for sharing more strongly and now the growing desire to teach.
I am training at the Sivananda yoga ashram in Orléans, 13 hours of daily yoga activities, asanas, pranayama, meditation, karma yoga, sharing, exchange, self-discovery, discovery of others, a community at the service of yoga.
Today, with this health crisis, it seems essential and vital to me to maintain the link, create the link, cultivate the link, share, exchange, so as not to remain alone.
HOW DID YOU LEARN TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?
I have always been aware of the importance of the "self", to be good with others, you have to be good with yourself. In 2017 burn out, resignation, world tour, return to France transformed with only one idea in mind, never again work without having time for myself.
WHAT PRACTICE FOR YOUR WELL-BEING?
Daily yoga (yin+hatha), mindful walking, meditation, self-smiling for no reason and anytime, being kind makes me happy and helping others.
WHAT IS THE RITUAL OF YOUR PRACTICE?
I get up with the sun, I do a few kriyas, sun salutations and I practice hatha, pranayama. At the end of the day, second practice: yin yoga. Finally, in the evening, it's time for meditation. Otherwise, I go for mindful walks, and hiking whenever possible. I connect with nature, the sun, the elements. I cook in a healthy and vegetarian way.
WHAT DO YOU GET FROM IT?
The day begins, I am in a good mood, my body is active, my mind is refocused, I feel on top, ready to share, to teach, to give.
WHAT DO YOU CARRY IN YOUR YOGA BAG?
My mat, a zafu, a blanket, a thermos with a hot drink, a synergy of essential joint oils and my mala.
WHAT IS YOUR FETISH OBJECT/ACCESSORY?
The mala, it reassures me, gives me energy, it is a constant companion. It is essential for meditating and pronouncing my mantra.
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE FOR TAYRONA YOGINIS?
Take the time to take the time (for yourself, for others). Practice karma yoga, the service of selfless action, being kind makes you happy. It is more necessary than ever in this time of change. Welcoming when things are going badly is ok, sharing it is ok. Having a gratitude notebook where every day you write a gratitude, no matter how small, like having tasted a good dish for example, at the end of the 365 days of the past year, it will be appreciable to see all the good, the good that exists in each thing
WHERE / HOW DO YOU PRACTICE?
In the morning, in the evening, or whenever the opportunity arises. For example, yesterday I was in the park for a reading moment, I practiced some postures on my head to warm up and activate my mind, the sun on my face, a spontaneous practice that was not planned.
WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA/FAVORITE PHRASE?
TAKE THE TIME TO TAKE THE TIME
