Practice Warrior 1, Wheel, Fish, Cobra and Reverse Salutation poses regularly to open the heart chakra .

As you know, yoga helps to release energy blockages in the body and thus circulate the Kundalini freely through the various energy centers called chakras. At the heart level, it is called the heart chakra or in Sanskrit Anahata . Consequently, opening the heart allows the purification of the energy center and therefore the smoother circulation of energy. Thus, the organs connected to it (heart, lungs, diaphragm, lymphatic glands, esophagus) function more optimally. You also demonstrate better compassion. Your self-confidence increases and you forgive more easily, expressing unconditional love. But how do you open the heart chakra ? If you are passionate about yoga, then regularly practice yoga postures to open Anahata .

Warrior Pose 1 (Virabhadrasana 1) to Cleanse the Heart

Warrior 1 pose is one of the most well-known yoga positions, especially for opening the rib cage . Stand on your mat and spread your legs. Rotate your left foot 90°. Bend your left lower limb at a right angle. Remember to align your knee with your ankle. The other leg remains extended. Then, rotate your chest to the left. Finally, stretch your arms upwards, palms together and shoulder blades together. The weight of the body is distributed over both legs.

Heart Chakra: Wheel Pose (Chakrasana)

Here are the steps to perform this heart-opening asana :

  • Lie down on your yoga mat,
  • Bend your legs. Your arms are bent at ear level, fingers pointing towards your shoulders,
  • Push through your legs while contracting your thighs and arms to raise your pelvis upwards.
Relax and clear your mind in this position!

Heart Cleansing with Fish Pose (Matsyasana)

To perform this yoga asana to open the heart , lie on your back on your mat, legs together. Place your hands, palms facing the floor, under your buttocks. As you inhale, inflate your rib cage while lifting your torso, helped by bending your arms. Your head is back and the top of your skull touches the floor. We recommend using a yoga bolster if you have difficulty holding this asana.

The cobra (Bhujangasana): heart-opening posture

The cobra pose is simple to do. To open your rib cage , lie on your stomach on your yoga mat. Place your hands at chest level, palms facing the floor, while your forearms are on the mat. Then, on an inhale, gently push on your hands to lift your bust and head. Remember to lower your shoulders and contract your glutes. Stay in this position for a few breaths and then come out of this asana on an exhale.
